So this weekend the moving commences. Actually the moving commenced Thursday night. Which, by the way, when you move out, clean the apartment. I say with all due respect to the girl who jut vacated mine. Because having a pet bunny in a Chicago apartment is odd enough, but leaving behind little bunny-nugget presents for the next tenant, well that’s just gross.
Anyway, since I am going to be cleaning and painting and moving and unpacking and shopping–also since I won’t have internet until Monday afternoon at which time I also get cable with my beloved DVR, cause I have got to see the Lost finale when it’s on even though it will undoubtedly leave me going “What?”–y’all are getting some filler post to keep you entertained until my triumphant return. It will be triumphant. I will conquer the bunny droppings.
So, one of my favorite games–addressing the search terms that bring people here.
“roadtrip goody bags for boyfriends” What? Honey, I can think of a few goodies your boyfriend might like on a roadtrip, but I don’t think they need to be put in a bag. If you know what I’m saying.
“movies called all grown up and oh my mom” Ok, so I thought I was understanding that one until like the third or fourth word. I don’t even know…
“the airheaded cheerleader” I beg your pardon?
“cheryl” … “wino” Damn skippy!
“What do you think it will be like tomorrow?” I’m hoping warm and dry. Anything to make the move easier.
“chest shave” and “tied” Sounds like someone has some really interesting hobbies. I’m not sure I understand how that led here, and I am not sure I want to know.
“why would blood come out my mouth” Because you bit your tongue really hard? Lost a tooth? Maybe you should seek medical attention?
“sibley warriors soccer” If they’re anything like they were when I was there, they kick ass. I have to say that, what with being a cheerleader and all…
And, my other favorite game…iPod Shuffle. Wherein I list the first 10 songs my iPod plays on shuffle. Except this time, to make it more entertaining, and because this game inevitably gets people wondering about some of the songs they might not be familiar with, click below on “pop out player,” then the launch player link, to hear them. And you can take them with you because it has its own window!
Oh, and? I want you to play to. You can leave your list in the comments. Hint, hint. It’ll give me something to look forward to. You know you want to…
1. “In Between Days,” The Cure
2. “Ooh La,” The Kooks
3. “Henrietta,” The Fratellis
4. “Run,” Snow Patrol
5. “Brothers on a Hotel Bed,” Death Cab for Cutie
6. “Home,” Foo Fighters
7. “Times Like These,” Foo Fighters
8. “She Moves In Her Own Way,” The Kooks
9. “You’re All I Have,” Snow Patrol
10. “Have a Nice Day,” Stereophonics
Hmmm, there are three repeat artists there. I swear my iPod is actually fairly diverse. That is the thing about leaving it all to the shuffle gods I guess.
And finally, many congrats to blogger Bev, who welcomed her daughter into the world last week! Feliticaciones!

Good luck with the move!! Great music, pizza and beer…the tried and true recipe to moving success. Plus there’s something really exciting about starting over and getting reorganized, yes?
Alright, so I finally am catching up with blog reading. Good luck with your move, girly. Sweets and I are looking at condos a little further north from you, but we could soon be neighbors. Just remind yourself that a month after you move, you won’t even remember the pellet present.
I will be back for the music. In the meantime - good luck with the move!
Cxx
I cannot believe she left those bunny droppings. That is just so, so wrong. Ugh! Good luck with everything!!
Hope the move is going well! I can’t wait to see the new place in the fall!
Movies called “All Grown Up” and “Oh My Mom”… My first thought was videos aimed at pre-schoolers. My second thought was incest-based porn. Either way, not something that should lead people to your blog.
awww, thanks for the congrats. she has slowed me down on my blog reading/writing, but whatcha gonna do?
Who doesn’t clean up after moving out?! That’s just rude.
Some of those search terms are hillarious. Others just make you wonder…
Good luck with the move & everyting!
oh good luck with the move! i will be in your shoes in less than 2 weeks. but like jessi says, there is nothing like a fresh start. looking forward to that (and not the whole moving business).
and that is gross that the previous tenant didn’t clean. seriously.
So we’re neighbors? You’re in Lincoln Square and I’m in North Center!
How are The Fratellis? They’ve been in my “maybe” pile for awhile now.
ew, that’s so rude about the previous owner! what a jerk.
searches to my blog are usually pretty boring… like 95% involving “alice in wonderland” in some form. although “alice in wonderland dirty pictures” and its ilk show up a lot.
i.. uh.. am one of the approximately 12 people under 30 who doesn’t own an ipod yet.
Maybe the predecessor to your new apartment is an air-headed cheerleader with a pet bunny.
And I also think there are more memorable ways in which a girlfriend can say goodbye to her beau than just handing him a goodie bad before his road trip.
